The first of the Photoshopped spectaculars, created for my husband in homage of a poster he found in Cairo with a similar disregard for proportion or scale. That's us on the roof. But that's not our real house.

October

There were a few elements (obviously) that came together to produce this calendar page. I carved the pumpkin with the snake, and Arthur carved the Shepard Fairey Day of the Dead skeleton face. Strombeek is wearing the carving pattern as her mask since I hadn't yet gotten around to getting them costumes. I think she's trying to shake it off in this picture, but I've artfully attached it to her collar with twist ties, so she can't. Louie isn't actually wearing the dress, (nor does he have people hands) but doesn't he look cute? :) For some reason, it looks to me like he's running in slow motion.

It was the 200th anniversary of Edgar Allan Poe's birth in 2009, and there were some events in Baltimore, MD, which is why there's the picture of Poe's tombstone. Otherwise, it's our kitchen table with a creepy moon and fire night sky background, which seems to very nicely get across the essence of October, which culminates in Halloween.
