March Madness

March's calendar picture is inspired by both the crazy Friskies commercials and March Madness (that's what's up with the basketball net, the dribbling butterflies, and the fish eating pellet-sized basketballs). But mainly it's inspired by the Friskies psychedelia.

The cats determined that the "meat by-product" listed as the first ingredient is actually old race horses, not the fish or turkies or other animals they show bowing down to the cats in the commercials. For this reason, in their version of Friskies Adventureland, they are greeted by racehorses in tiaras. Technically, these horses are at a stable in Yosemite, to be rented out for hiking adventures, but it's a very similar concept. I bet these horses eventually get too old to make it up the steep cliff faces of Half Dome, and then they've got to do something with them, right?
