The Valentine's Day Card that Started it All
The first of the Photoshopped spectaculars, created for my husband in homage of a poster he found in Cairo with a similar disregard for proportion or scale. That's us on the roof. But that's not our real house.

Strombeekzilla vs. Louthra
The backdrop for the battle is Arcosanti in Arizona, Paolo Soleri's arcology experiment. I wanted it to be like they were Gozilla and Mothra, but attaching actual animal parts. So here they are. Let the battle begin.

Back to School!
I thought I'd try a back-to-school photo shoot with the cats in an attempt to finish the 2013 calendar.
Strombeek is wearing a bow a ribbon that I thought looked kind of like a Shirley Temple hairpiece.

The Month of Mariachi
August's background photo is from Cactus Stovepipe in Arizona, outside of Ajo (it means garlic). When researching instruments, I learned that a mariachi band has a lot of them--as many as 8 violins and two trumpets. You will notice that Strombeek and Louie's band only has one of each. And no guitarrĂ³n (a bass guitar) or vihuela (a high-pitched rhythm guitar)--just one regular one. They're just a small band of mariachi cats wandering through the high desert just on the US side of the border, and relaxing under the saguaros.
