I thought I was pretty good at interpreting what my cats are trying to say, but it seems that I can still be way off. For instance, when I first introduced the new corn kernel litter, I thought Strombeek was just shaking herself, something she probably always did but I never noticed. But in reality she was demonstrating her intense displeasure with the "World's Best" Cat Litter. She was like, NOOOOOOOooooooo. I hate this litter SO much! I need to get every trace of it OFF me!"
What Coffee with Cats is NOT. . .
Coffee with Cats is not a fetish page devoted to the cat cafes of Japan.

The Valentine's Day Card that Started it All
The first of the Photoshopped spectaculars, created for my husband in homage of a poster he found in Cairo with a similar disregard for proportion or scale. That's us on the roof. But that's not our real house.

March of the Strombeek
Sometimes when people are visiting and things get slow, Strombeek is called upon to entertain.
She is not so excited about the cat pendant.
Nor does she appreciate the bunch of bananas competing for space on her chair while people dance around her and sing about how there aren't any bananas. Of course there are bananas. They're right there.
But worse than any of that is when she is conscripted to perform The Penguin Dance.

What Strombeek Does When No One's Home
She appears to be reading up on how to construct robot bases. But why? Does she hope to build robotic thumbs for opening cat food cans? Or devices with sharp edges and repetitive motion for scratching her ears? Something loud and fast to scare the Louie? Remote controlled mice to mess with him? Traps for capturing squirrels?

And Strombeek Prefers. . .
In the bowl to the right is Louie's food--Nutro Turkey & Giblets. First ingredient: turkey gravy.
To the left (in front of Strombeek) is Strombeek's food--Friskies Turkey & Giblets. First ingredient: meat by-product (= race horses). The flash sort of evens out the coloring, but the Friskies has more red chunks. (Again, the race horses.)
Which will she choose?

Weight Loss Smack Down
Louie is doing his best to keep Strombeek active while she does her best to stay put on the chair.
He was whacking at her pretty good before I came along with the camera.
