What Coffee with Cats is NOT. . .

Coffee with Cats is not a tribute to the coffee bean specially processed by the civet's digestive track.

Coffee with Cats is not a fetish page devoted to the cat cafes of Japan.

The first of the Photoshopped spectaculars, created for my husband in homage of a poster he found in Cairo with a similar disregard for proportion or scale. That's us on the roof. But that's not our real house.

December

I though that what was happening in this calendar page was very clear. Santa is exchanging one of his reindeer for Strombeek.  (He's the one with the talk bubble.) But then at one point Art said something weird about Strombeek holding Santa, or wrestling Santa.  Or a bear.  Or wearing a magic cloak--I'm not entirely sure what it was now, but whatever it was made it clear to me that this whole scene could be much more confusing than it was meant to be. (Maybe he thought Strombeek had leaped up into the sleigh and was absconding with Santa?) Of course I encourage and am amused by this plurality of interpretations, but I said I was going to explain them in the blog each month.  And so I am.

Santa is a photograph of an actual Santa ornament.  The park is downtown near Nat Geo taken just after a snowfall probably at least five years ago.
