Coffee with Cats is not a fetish page devoted to the cat cafes of Japan.

The Valentine's Day Card that Started it All

The first of the Photoshopped spectaculars, created for my husband in homage of a poster he found in Cairo with a similar disregard for proportion or scale. That's us on the roof. But that's not our real house.

September

Strombeek is guarding the entrance to the Cat Castle from the Jabiru storks. The background photo is from our trip to the Pantanal (the grassland just south of the Amazon) in Brazil in fall of 2009.  The storks were the only animal actually in the photo. They would stand alongside fishermen on the bank and wait for them to catch fish for them. They were almost as tall as the fishermen! I also have a picture of a Jabiru with his family in a giant nest.

The caiman is photoshopped in. He's not really after Louie, although it's great how Louie is looking behind him like he knows something is lurking.

This is from the Cat Castle period, obviously. And when they liked to sit on long pieces of packing paper like it was a canoe. Now, they have their cardboard boxes, which they like much better. Although, they might also like a Jabiru nest.
