What Coffee with Cats is NOT. . .

Coffee with Cats is not a tribute to the coffee bean specially processed by the civet's digestive track.

Coffee with Cats is not a fetish page devoted to the cat cafes of Japan.

Strombeek Tips the Scales

The vet said to weigh Strombeek in after two weeks. She said to get a baby scale. That's what they use at the vet's office.

It's only been a week since Strombeek's diet began, but the scale arrived, so we wanted to check out her progress so far.
14.15! Wow! She started at 15 lbs. She lost .85 lbs in one week! It's a weight loss miracle. Then I realize the scale registers pounds and ounces. So she weighed in at 14 lbs and 15 ounces. She only lost an ounce or two. But that's like a couple pounds for a cat, right?

She's supposed to lose 4 oz per week or 1 lb per month. Apparently if fat cats lose weight too fast it can have a negative effect on their livers.

Overall, I'm pleased with the progress we've made. Especially with all the setbacks--storming both the Cat Castle and the Kibble Kastle, and the evening we returned home to find the cats had tunneled into the kibble bag. It's sort of like a super mini weight loss miracle.
